Filing of Court Documents
How to file court documents and post bond with the Fairfield County Clerk of Courts — in person, by mail, e-mail, or fax.
Filings may be accepted in person, via U.S. Mail, e-mail or fax:

*No pleadings over 20 pages in length may be filed via e-mail or fax. No new cases or pleadings that require a filing fee may be filed via e-mail or fax.
Members of the public who are seeking to post bond for a defendant should call the Clerk’s Office before visiting in person for further instruction. Please contact the Clerk of Courts office between 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (Monday–Friday) for assistance.

Registered attorneys and filers can submit documents online and access the Electronic Case Filing (ECF) guides and registration instructions.
Reach the right division
Requests for records, documents, or information maintained by other courts, government offices, agencies, or departments must be directed to the appropriate office responsible for those records.
If you are seeking records from another department or agency, please contact that office directly for assistance with your request.
Please be advised that the general email address for this office is not intended for the filing or submission of court documents.
Sending documents to this email address does not constitute a filing with the Court and will not be accepted.
All filings must be submitted through the approved filing method established by the Court, which include electronic filing through the Clerk’s Electronic Case Filing (ECF) system, in-person filing, or other authorized methods.
Parties are responsible for ensuring that all documents are properly filed and received by the Clerk of Courts within the time required by law.
